The battle horn sounded at the gates of Tumbleton. The fierce battle between blacks and greens at the end of the third season of House of the Dragon was emerging as a central point in the story of the Game of Thrones spin-off, due to the expected plot twists. And according to the reactions, the feeling it left was that of a high-emotion finale. Warning: this note contains some spoilers for the episode. The episode was centered around the battle in which Ormund Hightower (James Norton) tried to counter the dragons serving the blacks, led by the impetuous Daemon Targaryen (Matt Smith). Therefore, he took measures; loyal to his interest in tarnishing Queen Rhaenyra's reputation, he placed hundreds of children on the battlements of Tumbleton to provoke a calculated massacre. Ormund also executed his move to outsmart Daemon, with the intervention of Ulf the White, who consummates his betrayal and switches to the greens. However, when the battle begins, no one can find him. True to his style, the man was sleeping off the effects of the previous night's drunkenness in a latrine. And just like Daemon, Ormund will make the mistake of humiliating and hitting Ulf in public. Daemon Targaryen (Matt Smith) is one of the characters who has undergone the most changes throughout House of the Dragon. Nicknamed the "Rebel Prince," he started as a willing heir to do anything to sit on the Iron Throne; even if those ambitions irritated his brother, King Viserys (Paddy Considine), and his niece, Princess Rhaenyra (played as a young girl by Milly Alcock and as an adult by Emma D’Arcy), who was named by the monarch as his heir despite the fact that a woman had never held that role before. Time passed, and a series of events made it plausible that a marriage between Daemon and Rhaenyra would strengthen her claim. With that union, he didn't become exactly an upright and benevolent guy, but he did help the character acquire new layers and generate conflicting feelings among viewers (do you remember the expression he adopted when he learned of Simon Strong's tragic end at the beginning of the third season?). The third season of the House of the Dragon series is entering its final stretch. The sixth episode of the season – titled Faceless Men and premiered last night on HBO and HBO Max – delved into crises, paved the way for imminent confrontations, and closed the story arc of a couple of characters who had been part of the production from the beginning (note: spoilers below). After not finding Aemond (Ewan Mitchell) in Harrenhal, Ser Criston Cole (Fabien Frankel) and Gwayne Hightower (Freddie Fox) dedicated themselves to neutralizing the Black army. Although they manage to cause some setbacks, Cole does not recover from a series of disappointments and concludes that it is time to stop fighting for others and to have a worthy ending. Everything leads to a conclusion hinted at for some time: his death on the battlefield. Cole does not die burned by dragon fire, nor as a result of being rammed by one of the main members of the enemy side, but rather from an arrow shot by an unknown warrior (who has been introduced as Alysanne Blackwood, played by actress Annie Shaper). He dies holding the handkerchief given to him by Alicent, his queen and (once) lover. HBO has released the official trailer for the third season of the original series "House of the Dragon," which premieres on Sunday, June 21st at 9:00 PM on HBO and HBO Max. The season will consist of eight episodes, which will be released weekly, and is scheduled to conclude on August 9th. Based on George R. R. Martin's "Fire & Blood," the series, set 200 years before the events of "Game of Thrones," tells the story of the Targaryen dynasty.
