Hansi Flick experienced a day he will never forget. The German coach celebrated winning the championship with Barcelona after defeating Real Madrid, achieving victory right in front of his arch-rival. However, just hours before, he received the news of his father's passing. It was a day filled with intense emotions.
The coach decided to remain on the sidelines and, understandably, was a key figure in a crucial match. Both his players and the opposing team approached him to offer their condolences. In fact, the atmosphere before the "Clásico" was marked by a minute of silence in honor of his father, during which he was visibly moved.
There were countless expressions of support for him. Hugs were frequent, including a close embrace with club president Joan Laporta. After the match, he was lifted into the air by the Barcelona players.
After securing another league title for Barcelona, Flick spoke to the press: "I will never forget this moment. It was a difficult day for me. My father passed away, but here, the team was fantastic, and I am delighted. They gave it their all," he told Movistar+.
Flick, visibly emotional on a day filled with emotions.
Flick sent a message to his players: "I am very proud of my players," he said. "It's impressive. You can see it. It wasn't easy. Everyone thought we could win, but Real Madrid is a great team. We played and defended well," he added.
He also cautioned that the season is not over and that there is still one more goal to achieve: ...

Alarm bells are ringing in Spain due to an injury to Nico Williams. The Athletic Club forward left the San Mamés stadium due to a muscle strain in his hamstrings, and his participation in the World Cup squad is now uncertain.
In the 35th minute of the narrow defeat against Valencia, the forward was replaced by his brother, Iñaki, who showed clear signs of concern.
Williams had recently returned to the pitch after a few games. He had been struggling with a severe pubalgia that had already cast doubt on his participation in the World Cup. However, after his return, he seemed to be regaining his best form.
For now, his participation in the 2026 tournament in North America is in question. This Monday, the forward will undergo medical examinations to determine the severity of the injury, which occurs just weeks before Luis de la Fuente announces the squad for the World Cup. All indications suggest that he will miss the rest of the season, with the question of his participation in the global tournament still hanging in the balance.
Concerns in Argentina
In Argentina, concern has also arisen. Nahuel Molina suffered a muscle tear in Atlético de Madrid's 1-0 defeat against Celta de Vigo.
The news has raised concerns within the technical staff of Lionel Scaloni, who considers the full-back a key player.
According to TyC Sports, Molina suffered a grade 1 muscle tear, which would require a recovery period of approximately 21 days. If that is the diagnosis, the defender could potentially be fit in time…

Real Madrid succumbed to Barcelona. They lost 2-0 to the Catalan side, who were crowned champions of LaLiga in front of them, capping off a week to forget.
Álvaro Arbeloa had to deal with significant absences when selecting the starting lineup for Real Madrid. One of them was Federico Valverde, who suffered a traumatic brain injury during a fight with Aurélien Tchouaméni. The other was Kylian Mbappé.
According to Marca, the French player felt discomfort in his hamstrings during the last five minutes of training before the trip to Barcelona. He left the practice session to the surprise of the entire team. He was excluded from the match despite having recently returned from an injury, even though he had participated in the two previous training sessions.
The overload, which had kept him out for over two weeks, had not fully healed in time for the Clásico, which further intensified the criticism directed towards Mbappé.
Criticism of Mbappé is increasing.
To add insult to injury, Mbappé posted a story on his Instagram account that further angered Real Madrid fans. The French player posted a picture watching the match at the 36th minute, when his team was already losing 2-0: "Hala Madrid," he wrote, accompanying the message with a white heart.
The criticism quickly followed, both from the press and from the fans: "The French player missed the Clásico due to discomfort in his hamstring. It's strange that the overload has kept him out for 15 days, and it's also strange that he decided to send a message of encouragement to..."

Barcelona delivered the final blow to Real Madrid. The Catalans crowned themselves champions of LaLiga, right in front of their arch-rivals, after winning 2-0 against the Merengues, who had endured a week filled with controversy, marked by a fight between Federico Valverde and Aurélien Tchouaméni, which ended with the Uruguayan in the hospital.
After losing El Clásico and the Spanish championship, coach Álvaro Arbeloa spoke to the media: "We can't say much because we understand the frustration and disappointment. The only thing we can do is work and look to the future to learn from what we did wrong this year. We know that Real Madrid always comes back, and right now I understand the fans' anger, just as we feel it ourselves," he began, visibly affected.
The coach addressed the absence of Kylian Mbappé, who remains injured and has been the target of criticism: "There are two weeks left, and depending on how his current discomfort evolves, we will see if he can play or not. I would have liked him to be 100% fit and to have started from the beginning," he said.
He also spoke about the end of the season and how they should recover: "Our season has ended today, but we haven't. What we can't do is give up. We defend something that is much bigger than all of us, which is the Real Madrid crest, and we have to show that we are truly hurt in the upcoming matches."

The giants of Spanish football find themselves in vastly different situations. One is celebrating, while the other is reeling from a week of turmoil. Barcelona had a unique opportunity to clinch the LaLiga title right in front of their arch-rival, Real Madrid. And they weren't going to let it slip away. In a Spotify Camp Nou packed with over 60,000 spectators, the Catalans secured a 2-0 victory, becoming the champions of the 2025-2026 season.
The equation was simple for the Barcelona players: if they didn't lose to the "merengues," they would be the champions. Even a draw would have been enough to secure the title. Furthermore, it was a chance to add another blow to a Real Madrid team already struggling with internal issues, following the incident between Federico Valverde and Aurelien Tchouameni, which resulted in both players receiving financial penalties, but no sporting sanctions. In fact, the French player started the match.
If the situation at Real Madrid was already tense ahead of the trip to Barcelona, it was further complicated by the absence of Kylian Mbappé, who was left out of the squad due to a muscle strain. Once again, the French superstar missed an important match for his club this season. As the World Cup approaches, it seems he is prioritizing personal interests over the collective good. Huijsen also missed the warm-up, and Asencio had to come on as an emergency replacement.
While not particularly dominant, Barcelona demonstrated that they are a much more reliable team with a clear game plan. They are not simply a collection of individual stars, unlike this Real Madrid team under Álvaro Arbeloa. It was a…

This Sunday could be a historic day in the Spanish league. Whenever Barcelona and Real Madrid meet on the field, it's a special match. These two giants are the protagonists of the world's greatest rivalry. But this time, the circumstances add extra weight and excitement to what might happen at the Spotify Camp Nou (3:00 PM Chile time).
The Catalan team has a golden opportunity to be crowned champions right in front of their arch-rival, who is arriving in Catalonia after one of the most turbulent weeks in their recent history. Everything is set for the Barcelona team.
Matchday 35 of LaLiga features the clash between Barcelona and Real Madrid. For days, "El Clásico" has been the main topic of conversation. If Hansi Flick's team had become champions in the previous round, the question would have been whether the Real Madrid players would perform the traditional "corridor of honor" for their rivals. Ultimately, that didn't happen, due to Real Madrid's victory over Espanyol. But now, the Barcelona team has a direct chance to achieve a historic milestone: winning the league title against Real Madrid.
This could be a unique event. Of the 28 Spanish league titles that Barcelona has won, they have never achieved it in a direct confrontation with Real Madrid. With an 11-point difference between first and second place, a win or a draw is enough for Barcelona to secure the title, with three matches still to be played.
On the other hand, Real Madrid has been champions of Spain...

Álvaro Arbeloa held what was arguably his most challenging press conference. The Real Madrid coach addressed the controversy surrounding Federico Valverde and Aurélien Tchouaméni for the first time. The two players were involved in a fight that resulted in the Uruguayan being hospitalized.
The coach reflected on the controversial incident, which resulted in a significant penalty for the players: "I have to say two things. First, I am very proud of the firmness, speed, and transparency with which the club has acted. Second, the players have already expressed their regret, acknowledged their mistake, accepted the consequences of their actions, and apologized to the club, the fans, the team, and me. That is enough for me. What I will not do is publicly condemn my players because they do not deserve it, neither of them," he began in a lengthy address.
Arbeloa recalled the controversial incident involving Juanito, who kicked Lothar Matthäus in the head during a match against Bayern Munich in the 1987 Champions League. "For me, there is one player who represents and embodies what it means to be a Real Madrid player, and that is Juanito. Did Juanito never make a mistake? I believe that we, the Real Madrid fans, are very proud that he is the only player we sing about at every match because he understood what Real Madrid is. He was not only a player with immense talent, but he always defended this crest, he gave his all for this crest in every match..."

Aurélien Tchouaméni breaks his silence. The French footballer gives his version of the scandal at Valdebebas. This Thursday, after Real Madrid's morning training session, Federico Valverde ended up in the hospital after a confrontation with the French player. However, the injury was the result of a fall. Both players were sanctioned by the club with a fine of €500,000 (525 million pesos).
The former Monaco midfielder posted a statement on Instagram. "What happened this week during training is unacceptable. I say this while thinking about the example we are expected to set for young people, whether in football or in school. Regardless of who is right or wrong, we must always seek the most peaceful solution to resolve a conflict," he begins.
"Above all, I am sorry for the image we project of the club. I know that the fans, the staff, my teammates, the management, everyone is deeply disappointed by the way this season has unfolded. But frustration cannot excuse everything. These incidents, although they may happen in any locker room, are not worthy of Real Madrid. After a period of eight games without a win, during which even the permanence of coach Manuel Pellegrini was questioned, Real Betis of Seville has achieved a level of consistency that brings them closer to their main goal: qualifying for the Champions League after 21 years.
Consecutive victories in the last two matches (3-2 against Girona and 3-0 against Oviedo) and a draw against Real Madrid, have put Pellegrini's team back in contention. With four games left in LaLiga, the Andalusian team is increasingly likely to secure the fifth position, which would, at the very least, allow the team to compete in the most important club tournament in Europe.
Currently, Real Betis has 53 points, six more than Celta de Vigo, who are in sixth place, and nine points ahead of the seventh-placed team, which is currently Getafe. This situation puts the Seville-based team in a position with a nearly guaranteed spot in continental tournaments.
"Qualifying for the Champions League is something that depends solely on us. We have to fight for that fifth place, even though there are still 12 points to play for. It would be a sixth consecutive qualification for a European competition, which is very important for this club, as it is not easy to achieve," said the Chilean coach after the victory over Oviedo.

The Uruguayan player suffered a traumatic brain injury after slipping and hitting his head on a table. Furthermore, reports in Spain suggest that the impact caused the Peñarol-trained footballer to lose consciousness. The incident reflected the internal deterioration and tensions within the club.
Valverde released a statement on his social media: "Yesterday, I had an incident with a teammate as a result of a play during training, where the fatigue from the competition and the frustration can make everything seem bigger," he explained about the initial altercation with the French player.
However, he also pointed to the leaks to the press: "In a normal locker room, these things can happen and are resolved among ourselves without becoming public. Obviously, there is someone behind this who is quick to spread the story, and considering this has been a season without titles, where Real Madrid is always under scrutiny, everything is magnified," he added.

Real Madrid announced the opening of disciplinary proceedings against Federico Valverde and Aurélien Tchouaméni, following an incident that occurred during training at the Valdebebas complex. The club officially communicated the decision amidst an internal crisis that resulted in the Uruguayan midfielder being transferred to a medical center.
"Real Madrid C.F. announces that, following the events that occurred this morning during the first team training session, it has decided to open disciplinary proceedings against our players, Federico Valverde and Aurélien Tchouaméni," the club stated in a press release.
"The club will inform, at the appropriate time, of the resolutions of both proceedings, once the corresponding internal procedures have been completed," they added.
Chronology of a scandal
The crisis began to become visible on Wednesday, when Valverde and Tchouaméni had a heated exchange during a practice session. The two footballers argued, confronted each other, and even pushed each other. The tension continued later in the locker room, although at that time the situation did not escalate further.
However, the atmosphere deteriorated again on Thursday. First, the Uruguayan refused to greet the Frenchman at the start of training. The session took place in a highly tense atmosphere, especially on the part of the Uruguayan player, a situation that ultimately led to a new confrontation after the morning session ended.

Real Madrid is experiencing a true crisis. The tense atmosphere within the club finally erupted during Thursday's session. A fight between Aurélien Tchouaméni resulted in the Uruguayan player being hospitalized.
The serious incident, described as "the most serious ever experienced in Valdebebas," occurred just before "El Clásico" against Barcelona. This Sunday, May 10th, both teams will face each other at Camp Nou, where Barcelona could be crowned champions of LaLiga, right in front of their arch-rival.
In that context, the Barcelona team made pointed posts on social media following the scandal at Real Madrid. On Wednesday, they posted a photograph of some of their players with a clear message: "One big family," accompanied by a heart.
The post appeared shortly after the first altercation between Valverde and Tchouaméni became public. The argument, reportedly stemming from a foul during training, escalated as both players confronted each other and pushed, extending the discussion to the locker room. While the situation didn't escalate further, it reflected the internal deterioration and tensions within the club. The following day, everything culminated in a major controversy.

The elimination of Atlético Madrid by Arsenal in the Champions League has caused a stir in Spain. Iberian media are directly pointing the finger at German referee Daniel Siebert for the 1-0 result in favor of the British team.
"First Saka, then the referee," reads a headline in AS, for example. "Arsenal reaches the Champions League final after defeating Atlético 1-0 with a goal by Saka just before halftime. Subsequently, the referee influenced the game by not awarding a clear penalty for a foul by Calafiori on Griezmann," the article's introduction states.
"As the years pass, it is the titles that remember the efforts. From tonight, for the Atlético fans, one name will stand out above all others. His name is Daniel Siebert," the note reads.
The same newspaper also points to another figure: Mikel Arteta. He is accused of tarnishing the result. "Arteta spoils the ending," they claim.
Once again, the focus is on the referee's performance. "It is true that the German referee was unable to prevent this tactic of cooling down the game. Logically, Arsenal had the lead and was trying to ensure that nothing would happen to secure their qualification for Budapest. These were moments of tension that Arteta experienced more intensely than anyone... until he could finally breathe with the final whistle of a Daniel Siebert who, on the other hand, did not seem to take into account that, in the five minutes of added time he granted, the ball was barely in play," they state about the coach's actions and the referee's lack of strictness.

It's a difficult time for Atlético de Madrid fans. This Tuesday, the club was eliminated in the Champions League semi-finals after a narrow defeat against Arsenal in London, with a goal from Bukayo Saka. To make matters worse, Diego Simeone, the coach and a key figure for the team over the past 15 years, who brought back titles and continental relevance, is showing clear signs of fatigue.
In the mixed zone at the Emirates Stadium after the elimination, "El Cholo," with a disappointed expression, was asked if he still had the strength to try and win the Champions League again next year. The Argentinian was blunt: "Not now, definitely not now."
"We went much further than normally expected."
Despite the bitterness of the defeat, Simeone gave a positive assessment of his team's performance in this edition of the tournament: "For our fans, for the players, we had a very good Champions League campaign. We gave our all. We went much further than normally expected. It's a shame because I think we deserved an extra time period in both legs, which would have given us a better chance."

Arsenal returns to the Champions League final after a long wait. The most popular team in London defeated Atlético Madrid 1-0 in Great Britain, a score that, combined with the 1-1 draw in Spain, gave them a 2-1 aggregate victory, making them the first team to reach the final this season and giving them a chance to win their first title in history.
However, the British team was determined to settle a long-standing debt. Exactly 20 years ago, the Gunners reached their only final in this tournament after eliminating Villarreal, coached by Manuel Pellegrini, but they lost to Barcelona.
This is a vivid reminder of a project with its own identity. A team that took control of the game and tried to push the Spanish side back towards their own goal.
But the well-organized defense of Diego Simeone's team left very few openings. A team that defends in a structured manner, in compact blocks, with high effectiveness on the opposing side, thanks to the speed and dedication of its players.
In this context, the visiting team was the one that created more danger. In the 8th minute, a skillful run by Antoine Griezmann on the right wing ended with a shot by Julián Álvarez. Moments later, the same French attacker forced a great save from goalkeeper David Raya to block a cross.
However, as time went on, the home team felt more comfortable in the match. A long shot by Gabriel Magalhaes and then…

Kylian Mbappé is at the center of controversy. In a Real Madrid that is unlikely to win any titles this season, the French star serves as a scapegoat to justify the team's failure. Any disciplinary issue involving the French player, no matter how minor, leads to criticism aimed at explaining the failure of one of Europe's biggest teams.
This happened recently, after the attacker traveled with his girlfriend to the island of Sardinia while still recovering from his injury. Although the player traveled with the permission of the medical staff and the club itself, the Spanish media did not ignore the incident. Donatello returned to Madrid last Sunday, just before the start of the match in which Real Madrid won 2-0 against Espanyol in Barcelona.
The player's entourage attempted to explain what happened and issued a press release to address the situation, highlighting the media coverage the issue received.
"Some of the criticism is based on an excessive interpretation of elements related to a recovery period strictly managed by the club, without reflecting the reality of Kylian's daily commitment and his work for the team," the statement read.

Manuel Pellegrini is optimistic about the final stretch of LaLiga. At the helm of Betis, the coach is very close to returning to the UEFA Champions League after a long absence. This Sunday, the team dominated the bottom-placed Oviedo with a 3-0 victory, solidifying their position in fifth place and edging closer to competing in the 2026/27 Champions League.
The Chilean coach knows he is on the verge of reaching Europe, so every positive result is crucial for securing a place in the competition. "This is a very important victory because it gives us three more points, and there are only 12 games left. It allows us to maintain a six-point lead over the teams behind us. At this stage of the competition, the result is very important," he said after the win at La Cartuja.
It has been 20 years since the 2005/06 Champions League campaign, which, to this day, is the only season in which Betis has participated. For this reason, the national coach values the imminent achievement. "First, we need to focus on what depends solely on us, which is fighting for that fifth place, for which there are still 12 points to play for. It would be a sixth consecutive qualification for Europe, which is very important for this club because it is not easy to achieve," he assured.
To achieve this goal, Pellegrini points to the experience of the top teams in LaLiga. "In the past six years, only Atlético de Madrid, Barcelona, and Real Madrid have managed to do it. The rest..."

Two goals by Vinicius Jr allowed Madrid to remain in title contention with Barcelona ahead of El Clasico next Sunday.

This Sunday could have been a defining day in LaLiga. From a distance, Barcelona was eagerly awaiting the possibility of clinching the title (as it's called in Spain, referring to the celebration of a championship). For this to happen, Real Madrid had to avoid winning against Espanyol in Catalonia. However, the Catalan team will have to wait, because the "merengues" (Real Madrid) defeated Espanyol 2-0, postponing their arch-rival's coronation.
On Saturday, the Barcelona team did their part by winning against Osasuna, playing away from home. This gave them the opportunity to become champions of LaLiga if Real Madrid were to lose at the RCDE Stadium, the home of a struggling Espanyol team fighting to avoid relegation (though not as much as Sevilla, with Alexis Sánchez and Gabriel Suazo).
Vinicius Jr. was the star of the match. Often controversial and provocative, this Sunday he was the driving force for Real Madrid. In the first half, he almost caused a red card for the Catalan team. In the 25th minute, Omar El Hilali received a red card for a foul against the Brazilian. However, the VAR intervened, the play was reviewed, and the decision was changed: the foul resulted in only a yellow card.
In the second half, the former Flamengo player showed his talent and ability to score. In the 55th minute, he opened the scoring with a spectacular goal. He faked out two defenders with a clever move and then shot past goalkeeper Dmitrovic into the far post.
Then, in the 66th minute, Vinicius scored again to make it 2-0. He took a powerful shot after a backheel pass from Jude Bellingham…

PSG did not prepare in the best possible way for their Champions League semi-final second leg against Bayern Munich on Wednesday. With a reshuffled squad, PSG were held to a 2-2 draw at home by Lorient. The result had no impact on the title race, as Lens also failed to win at Nice (1-1) and remain six points behind PSG.

Real Betis faces a true final, the first of five. Manuel Pellegrini's team is aiming to secure a fifth-place finish, which could earn them a historic qualification for the Champions League.
To achieve this, they must defeat Real Oviedo, who are hoping for a miracle but seem destined for relegation. However, the "Verdiblancos" need to overcome a prolonged period of poor form at home. They haven't won a La Liga match at La Cartuja since February 1st. Since then, they have played five games, drawing all of them, which has distanced them from the fight for the fourth position.
In this regard, qualifying for the Champions League would be "something historic" for Pellegrini: "In 117 years, it has only been achieved once, and doing it for the second time would be very important. Then, how that Champions League would be approached is also a subject of lengthy discussions because it represents a very significant leap in the sporting aspect. Of course, it would be a great achievement. How it would be approached would be a conversation that we would need to have later," he said.
Despite the need to win, everything depends on the results of Atlético de Madrid and Rayo Vallecano in the Champions League and the Conference League, respectively, so that Spain can earn an additional spot based on the UEFA coefficient.
Furthermore, this would be the sixth European qualification under the Chilean coach: "We assume we will finish in fifth place and be in Europe. I think it has been six very competitive seasons. Achieving six..."

After a legendary European night against Bayern Munich on Tuesday, PSG get back to the routine of the French league with a match against Lorient on Saturday at the Parc des Princes. But there is no question of Paris taking this game lightly: PSG have not yet secured the title and cannot afford to drop points, especially as Lens, second and just six points behind, are still very much in the race.

José Mourinho denied having any contact with Real Madrid. "No one has spoken to me. I can guarantee that," he stated this Friday. European media have named the Portuguese coach as the top candidate to take over at the Santiago Bernabéu.
"I've been in football for many years and I'm used to these things... but there's nothing concrete from Real Madrid," he emphasized.
The speculation arises in a context of uncertainty regarding the team's management. Álvaro Arbeloa is under pressure after a season without any titles. Florentino Pérez appointed him as interim coach in January, replacing Xabi Alonso, who arrived at the beginning of the season and left amidst a crisis with the squad.
Currently, Real Madrid is 11 points behind the league leader, Barcelona, with five games remaining. Furthermore, they were eliminated in the quarter-finals of the Champions League against Bayern Munich.
Mourinho, who coached the club between 2010 and 2013, has a contract with Benfica. "I have one year left on my contract," the Portuguese coach said.
However, in February, when his team and Real Madrid faced each other in the Champions League, the coach acknowledged that he maintains a good relationship with the club's management. "I left with a completely clear conscience, I will never forget what the president and José Ángel Sánchez told me: 'Now comes the easy part, the difficult part is already done,'" he said at the time.

Pep Guardiola made a sarcastic remark about the match between Paris Saint-Germain and Bayern Munich, one of the most talked-about games in the past week. The historic 5-4 result in the Champions League sparked a debate about the level of play exhibited by both teams. However, the Manchester City manager declined to offer his analysis.
While much of the public followed that match, the Catalan coach chose to go to a stadium at the same time to watch a third-division English match between Stockport County and Port Vale.
"The day before, I saw the PSG vs. Bayern Munich game and I thought, 'What a disastrous match.' Furthermore, the coaches, Luis [Enrique] and Vincent [Kompany], don't seem particularly good to me, and the level of some of the players is awful," Guardiola sarcastically remarked.
He then explained his decision: "I am in love with English football and I went to see Stockport."
Regarding the comparison between the PSG-Bayern tie and the other Champions League match, between Atlético Madrid and Arsenal, the coach downplayed those who describe Diego Simeone and Mikel Arteta as defensive. "That's the beauty of football. You and I are not the same; I am more handsome than you. In any case, it was a good match, although with different styles," Guardiola said.

A new disciplinary measure has been introduced in football. This follows the International Football Association Board (IFAB) unanimously approving two changes to the Laws of the Game, proposed by FIFA, to address "discriminatory and inappropriate behavior." One of these is already informally known as the "Vinicius-Prestianni Law."
The new regulations stipulate that players who cover their mouths when confronting an opponent during a match, as well as those who leave the field of play as a protest against a referee's decision, will receive a red card. This decision was adopted during a special IFAB session held this Tuesday in Vancouver, Canada.
As mentioned, one of the changes concerns players who cover their mouths when facing opponents. "At the discretion of the competition organizer, players who cover their mouths when confronting an opponent may be shown a red card," according to FIFA.
The other change relates to players who leave the field of play as a protest against a referee's decision. "The referee may show a red card to any player who leaves the field of play as a protest against a referee's decision. This new rule also applies to members of the coaching staff who encourage players to leave the field of play," according to the governing body.

The ability of insects to solve complex operations has been a subject of debate for years among neuroscientists and biologists. A recent study from Monash University in Australia argued that honeybees possess the ability to handle basic mathematical concepts, such as counting, a finding that, according to its authors, reconfigures our understanding of the evolution of animal intelligence, as reported by the science publication Popular Science.
In the study, published in the scientific journal Proceedings of the Royal Society B: Biological Sciences, the team led by Scarlett Howard demonstrated that the small brain of a bee—with fewer than a million neurons—not only processes visual information but also executes abstract operations. To achieve this, the researchers exposed the bees to various combinations of shapes and quantities, using food rewards as a learning incentive.
A key aspect of the experiment was the inclusion of a completely blank surface to represent the concept of "zero." The existence of this notion implies a high level of cognitive abstraction and allows scientists to rule out that the responses are based solely on the perception of present objects. This approach allowed the team to isolate the bees' responses from simple visual cues of low complexity.
A control experiment further refined this finding: the trained bees...

The first leg of this Champions League season will go down in history. Not only for Paris Saint-Germain's emphatic 5-4 victory over Bayern Munich, but also for the way that spectacular result unfolded on the pitch at the Parc des Princes in the French capital.
The match was a rollercoaster of emotions, with Bayern taking an early 1-0 lead, before the French side mounted a stunning comeback in the second half. The home team then suffered a setback, allowing Bayern to react, and ultimately, they only lost by a single goal, leaving everything open for the return leg on Wednesday, May 6th, in Germany.
After the intense match, the French coach, Spaniard Luis Enrique, highlighted the determination of both teams, describing it as one of the best matches in the history of the top European club tournament.
"I have never seen such intensity in football. I don't think it's the time to point out any flaws, we just need to congratulate everyone," the Asturian coach explained during the official broadcast of the match held in the City of Lights.
In his analysis, the former Barcelona and Real Madrid player acknowledged that his team could have even suffered a defeat at home against one of the best teams in the continent.
"We deserved to win, but we could also have drawn, and we could even have lost. It was a truly fantastic match. Without a doubt, it was the best match I have been a part of as a coach," he warned.

The Champions League is entering its final stages, with only four teams remaining in contention. The first semi-final pits two of the best teams of the past decade against each other.
At the Parc des Princes in the City of Lights, at 3:00 PM Chile time, the current champions, Paris Saint-Germain, will host Bayern Munich, who defeated Real Madrid in the quarter-finals.
This is a match with a rich history, featuring two of the continent's major powerhouses, but one that also carries a long-standing rivalry from various stages of this very competition.
The French and German teams have faced each other 15 times, solely in the context of the fight for the Champions League trophy. The Bavarians have won 9 of those matches, while the French have won 6, with no draws between the two powerhouses. In terms of direct elimination matches, they have played in three instances, the most memorable being the 2020 final when the Bavarians narrowly defeated PSG in Lisbon.
Regarding the current form of each team, the Germans secured their thirty-fourth title in their history in the Bundesliga on April 19th, just four rounds before the end of the competition, marking their thirteenth title in the last 14 seasons. In Europe, they overcame Real Madrid in the round of eight with an aggregate score of 6-4, winning both the first and second legs.
On the other hand, the Qatari-owned Parisian team has six more points than their closest rival, Lens, with four rounds remaining in the domestic league…

Manuel Pellegrini's Betis team drew 1-1 against Real Madrid. The Andalusian team found the equalizer in the final play of the match. Héctor Bellerín scored the decisive goal.
After the match, the Spanish press praised the attitude of the "verdiblanco" team. "Betis showed heart against Madrid when their football was no longer enough. The Chilean's project still has soul, even when the Malaga player is not there," noted the media outlet AS.
"The Isco effect and Pellegrini's ambition," the headline of the aforementioned newspaper reads. In that article, they praise the coach's strategy: "Pellegrini brought out his weapons, one by one. He adjusted the team's approach in the final fifteen minutes and brought on Isco Alarcón. He is the leader of a Betis that this year dreamed of something more, until he was no longer there. The match against Madrid was a small reflection of that. His appearance almost saved the day and reinforced the idea that a Betis with him is a better Betis. The agonizing draw between Betis and Real Madrid didn't entirely satisfy the coach of the Seville-based team, the Chilean Manuel Pellegrini. Despite this, the point allows Betis to remain in the fight for European competitions, and also confirms the team's resurgence during a difficult period.
"The fans have never doubted this team. The defeat that eliminated us from the Europa League was very, very painful for everyone, but that bitterness only lasts a couple of days. The merit of this team is not letting LaLiga go to waste; it's a squad that has continued to fight for important things. We are in that situation, and the fans understood it. The team is committed as always," the coach warned in a press conference.
Despite the relief after the draw secured by Héctor Bellerín, the coach from Santiago didn't miss the opportunity to point out that his team fought for a better result against the Madrid giant.
"The draw left a good taste in our mouths, but considering what we did for the 90 minutes, we deserved to win against Real Madrid; their goalkeeper was the standout player. Lunin saved a couple of shots, so the least we should have gotten was that point. It leaves us satisfied because of the importance of the opponent and the way we achieved this result," Pellegrini said.
When asked about the controversy and the complaints from the opposing coach, Álvaro Arbeloa, regarding the play that led to Betis' goal, the Chilean responded that "the two players were grappling, and one of them fell as if he had been tripped..."

Betis showed a clear sign of footballing recovery. Manuel Pellegrini's team fell behind by a narrow margin against the powerful Real Madrid for much of the match in Seville, but Héctor Bellerín's late goal brought the score to 1-1, keeping them in contention for a potential Champions League spot.
It was a promising start for the Seville-based team, but it didn't last long. Pellegrini's team stood their ground against the Madrid side, but the visitors' individual brilliance quickly turned the tide.
In the 8th minute, Kylian Mbappé had already identified the spaces left by the home team in their defense. The French forward received a pass from Ibrahim Díaz on the far post, but he couldn't find the target. Before the quarter-hour mark, the Frenchman warned them again.
At that point, Real Madrid's goal seemed inevitable. The Madrid midfielders were pushing the Betis players back towards their own goal, and their diverse attacking options were solidifying their dominance. In the 17th minute, a long-range shot from Uruguayan Federico Valverde was only partially saved by Betis goalkeeper Álvaro Valles, and the rebound fell to Vinícius Junior, who scored to make it 1-0.
This goal demoralized the Madrid players and further widened the gap between the two teams. The Andalusian team struggled to build attacks from their own half. In the 35th minute, a combination between Mbappé and Jude Bellingham resulted in a shot from the Englishman that narrowly missed the goal.

The end of the season has brought a new setback for Barcelona, but especially for Lamine Yamal. The 18-year-old player will miss the remainder of the LaLiga competition after suffering a muscle injury in the Catalans' last match.
The 18-year-old was forced to leave the field due to a muscle injury, shortly after scoring the only goal in the victory over Celta de Vigo, a penalty that allowed Hansi Flick's team to extend their lead over second-placed Real Madrid by 9 points.
Immediately after the injury, the player fell to the ground on the field, and the medical staff, along with the coaching staff, decided to substitute him immediately. After the examinations conducted on Thursday morning, the club established the recovery timeline.
"Tests have confirmed that first-team player Lamine Yamal has suffered a hamstring injury in his left leg. The player will undergo conservative treatment. Lamine Yamal will miss the rest of the season," the club announced in a statement.
A difficult message.
A heavy blow for Lamine, who was hoping to cap one of his best seasons in his burgeoning career, having scored 24 goals and provided 18 assists in 45 matches, all while wearing the Barcelona jersey.
This marks the end of the season for the player, who deeply regretted this setback on his official channels, where he stated, "It really hurts."

On Wednesday, Barcelona narrowly defeated Celta de Vigo in a LaLiga match. Just another day at the office. However, all eyes were on the injury to Lamine Yamal, who was forced off the field shortly before halftime due to a muscle injury, after scoring the only goal of the game against the Galician team.
The player, who came through the La Masía academy, paused for a moment before taking the penalty, then suddenly kicked it with force. Immediately after scoring, he collapsed to the ground on his back, realizing he had been injured. The Barcelona team doctor examined the player on the pitch and concluded that he needed to be substituted.
While there was concern, it wasn't as much within the Barcelona squad, who are already 9 points ahead of Real Madrid in the title race, but rather regarding the young player's participation with the Spanish national team in the upcoming 2026 World Cup.
The situation was immediately addressed by the medical services of the Catalan institution. On Thursday morning, the young player underwent an MRI scan at the Joan Gamper Sports City facility.
The Timeline
Following the latest evaluations, the Barcelona team established a recovery timeline for Yamal. This injury will keep the player off the field for more than a month.
While dramatic in appearance, the outlook for his participation in the World Cup is slightly more optimistic, a tournament in which the Spanish national team will participate…

Lamine Yamal's participation in the World Cup is now in doubt. The forward suffered an injury during the match between Barcelona and Celta Vigo. Spanish media reports suggest a hamstring injury to his left leg.

Manuel Pellegrini's Betis defeated Girona 3-2 in a match played at the Municipal Stadium of Montilivi. This victory allows the team, nicknamed "the Engineer's team," to break a streak of seven games without a win in LaLiga. The Andalusian team came back from a deficit in the second half. The result keeps Betis in fifth place with 49 points, in the race for qualification to European competitions. They still have aspirations to qualify for the Champions League. The elimination of Real Madrid in the Champions League quarter-finals, at the hands of Bayern Munich, continues to have repercussions. In Europe, the leading figures of the Madrid club have been criticized for another failure in the continent's premier competition.
One of them is Kylian Mbappé, who, since his arrival at the Santiago Bernabéu, has not been able to win either LaLiga or the Champions League. In this context, Emmanuel Petit, a World Cup champion with the French national team in 1998, decided to launch a harsh criticism of the striker's time at the Spanish capital club.
"Not all the blame is Mbappé's, but despite everything, his arrival has created many ego-related problems in the locker room. It's a disaster," said the midfielder, who has played for teams like Arsenal, Monaco, and Barcelona.
To explain this position, the Frenchman argued that when Mbappé left Paris Saint-Germain, the team relaxed and managed to achieve their first Champions League title. "Since PSG plays as a team, they are phenomenal. They are united like the fingers on a hand," he said.
However, the criticism was not limited to the striker. Petit also spared no words for another of his compatriots, midfielder Eduardo Camavinga. "If someone is to blame, it's him. His introduction was catastrophic. At that moment in the game, that red card was very harsh, but the referee is only applying the rules... Real Madrid always hides..."

Real Madrid is experiencing yet another forgettable season. The team was eliminated from the Champions League, a blow that signifies another year without trophies. This is compounded by their elimination from the Copa del Rey, whose champion will be decided today, and their slim chances of overtaking Barcelona in LaLiga.
Injuries and absences have been a major problem throughout the season, and this issue continues to plague the team. Now, Raúl Asencio has been admitted to the hospital due to gastroenteritis.
The defender has been suffering from a viral illness, which prevented him from traveling to Germany and playing against Bayern Munich. However, his condition has worsened, causing him to lose six kilograms after several days of vomiting.
The defender had to go to a medical facility for tests, where he was diagnosed with bacterial enterocolitis: "Following tests performed on our player Raúl Asencio by the Real Madrid Medical Services, he has been diagnosed with bacterial enterocolitis. Porsche continues to push the boundaries of its iconic 911 lineup and has just unveiled one of its most striking versions in recent years: the new 911 GT3 S/C, the first GT3 convertible in history.
Under the name S/C (Sport Cabriolet), this new variant is based on the 911 GT3, but introduces a completely new configuration within the family. Its main innovation is the inclusion of an automatic soft top, capable of opening or closing in approximately 12 seconds, while the vehicle is stationary or moving at speeds up to 50 km/h.
The heart of the GT3 S/C remains true to tradition: a naturally aspirated 4.0-liter boxer engine, capable of delivering 510 horsepower and revving up to 9,000 rpm. This engine is exclusively paired with a six-speed manual transmission, reinforcing its purist character and its direct connection to the driver.
In terms of performance, the figures are in line with its pedigree. It accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in just 3.9 seconds and reaches a top speed of approximately 313 km/h, positioning it as one of the most radical convertibles on the market.
One of the key aspects of this model is its focus on weight reduction. Real Madrid's elimination from the Champions League at the hands of Bayern Munich was marked by moments of tension. The controversial sending-off of Eduardo Camavinga sparked outrage within the Real Madrid squad. However, during the match, there were instances where players from the Spanish team were at odds with each other.
Cameras from the official broadcast captured a heated exchange between Vinícius Junior and Jude Bellingham. In the 83rd minute, with the score at 3-2 and the tie level, the Brazilian took advantage of an error by Upamecano. He entered the penalty area at speed and the English player asked for the ball, but Vinícius didn't pass it to him.
The British midfielder made several gestures asking for the ball, but Vinícius opted for a solo play. He didn't even attempt to pass the ball to him. The play ended with a throw-in for Bayern after the attacker mishandled the ball, and the French defender regained possession.
Bellingham, visibly annoyed by the situation, once again spread his arms in protest against his teammate and reprimanded him for not passing the ball. Vinícius, in turn, didn't hold back and responded with annoyance: "What do you want? Shut up."
At the time of the argument between Vinícius and Bellingham, the tie was completely level, poised to go into extra time. However, immediately after came Camavinga's sending-off and Real Madrid's collapse. Luis Díaz, in the 89th minute, became the hero for the German team...

The Champions League never disappoints. It frequently delivers unforgettable matches. Of course, it's the international elite. However, the high-quality spectacle put on by Bayern Munich and Real Madrid this Wednesday was still remarkable. It felt like a final, even though it was only the second leg of the quarter-finals. The German team ended up celebrating, reaching the semi-finals after a thrilling 4-3 victory (6-4 on aggregate).
This was the best way to honor the thirtieth match between the Bavarian and Madrid teams (only in the European Cup). It's the most repeated match in UEFA club tournaments. That's why it's considered a classic. Since the first leg was a 2-1 victory for Bayern in Spain, the pressure was primarily on Real Madrid. Despite its ups and downs, the Champions League transforms everything. It's the most successful competition for a reason.
To face a team in such great form, the leader and almost champion of the Bundesliga (again), Real Madrid had to play a precise game. Álvaro Arbeloa opted for an offensive formation. For the first time in the tournament's history, the Madrid team started with an eleven that included no Spanish players.
Just before the minute mark, the visiting team unexpectedly scored the first goal. Arda Güler capitalized on a glaring error by Manuel Neuer, who mishandled the ball, and fired a shot on goal to open the scoring. It was a great finish by the Turkish player, whose left foot would later demonstrate its brilliance again. In a match that was destined to be memorable, l…

The second leg of the Champions League quarter-finals started with a frantic pace. Both Real Madrid and Bayern Munich scored within the first six minutes. Both goals came as a result of errors by the goalkeepers, who made significant mistakes.
Real Madrid was aiming for a historic victory at the Allianz Arena, having quickly taken the lead after a major blunder by Manuel Neuer. The Spanish team, which had lost 2-1 at the Bernabéu, took the lead and tied the series after an unexpected and inexplicable mistake by the German goalkeeper. This was capitalized on by Arda Güler.
The goal came after a recovery by Kimmich, who passed the ball back to his goalkeeper. The Bavarian captain controlled the ball outside the area and attempted to pass it to a teammate with his less-skilled foot, but he made a serious mistake and passed the ball to the Turkish player. The Turkish player then scored with a precise left-footed shot, silencing the entire German stadium after just 35 seconds. A great finish by the young midfielder.

While Madrid was still celebrating, the equalizer came. A short corner kick by Kimmich, with Andriy Lunin out of position. Aleksandar Pavlović charged from the center and scored with a header, with the goal at his disposal.

Raphinha found himself in a vulnerable position after Barcelona's elimination from the Champions League. The Brazilian player could face disciplinary action for his comments against the French referee, Clément Turpin, following Barcelona's defeat against Atlético Madrid in the Champions League quarter-finals. The forward, who did not participate in the match due to injury, described the officiating as "a robbery."
"Making a mistake is human, but for it to happen again in the second leg? We played very well, but this tie was stolen from us," he said.
In his remarks, the player pointed to what he perceived as inconsistencies in the application of sanctions during the match. "The decisions he made were incredible. Atlético committed countless fouls, and the referee didn't even show them a single yellow card. I really want to understand his fear of Barcelona reaching the next round," he emphasized.
His statements are currently under review by UEFA. The European governing body's Disciplinary Code, in its article 11, states that any conduct deemed insulting or that discredits football or the institution itself can be subject to sanctions. These comments against the officiating could lead to suspensions.
The regulations stipulate penalties that can extend up to three matches. In fact, there are precedents for similar situations. In 2019, Neymar was sanctioned for criticizing the officiating after PSG's elimination against Manchester United. UEFA then...

"El Cholo" smiles for the press. Diego Simeone spoke after the Champions League quarter-final tie and commented on Atlético de Madrid's qualification against Barcelona. The coach acknowledged the difficulty of the match. "When the game started, watching it, I said, 'Oh my God, this isn't true. They're playing at an incredible speed.' We made mistakes that allowed them to make even more use of their football," he said.
The Argentine explained how his team reacted after falling behind and stated that the response was a collective decision. "I think that after going down 2-0, there were two options: to give up, lower your arms, or continue playing the game we had planned," he said.
In that context, he highlighted the role of some players in the reaction. "It was achieved thanks to the personality of (Antoine) Griezmann and Koke, the recovery of (Marcos) Llorente, and the calmness of (Juan) Musso," he indicated.
The coach also analyzed the development of the second half. "The substitutions gave us strength. The introduction of Nico (Nicolás González), (Álex) Baena, and (Alexander) Sorloth continued to give us attacking possibilities," he said.

The 2025-2026 Champions League has already determined its first semi-finalists. They are Atlético Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain, who overcame Barcelona and Liverpool, respectively. Both teams are aiming to reach Budapest, where the final will be held on May 30th.
Atlético Madrid, under the guidance of Diego Simeone, played the second leg at home, with the mission of protecting the advantage they had gained in the first leg, following their 2-0 victory at Camp Nou. Historically, Atlético had the upper hand in direct matches against Barcelona in the Champions League, particularly in the quarter-finals (2013-2014 and 2025-2016), and this pattern repeated itself in the 25-26 season. Despite losing 1-2, they advanced with an aggregate score of 3-2.
In an attempt to overturn the tie, Hansi Flick opted for a lighter attacking lineup, aiming to create fewer predictable opportunities. He left Robert Lewandowski and Marcus Rashford on the bench, and Raphinha was also unavailable. Barcelona started with overwhelming intensity. The first chance came just 33 seconds into the match, with a shot from Lamine Yamal that was deflected by Juan Musso. This was an indication of how the first half would unfold.
The match began with a surprising vulnerability in Atlético's defense. A mistake by Lenglet led to the opportunity for the 1-0 goal, which was scored by Lamine Yamal in the 4th minute. The Spanish international slotted the ball between Musso's legs to narrow the aggregate score. The La Liga leaders then…

This Tuesday, the Champions League will see another crucial stage in the teams' aspirations to lift the coveted trophy. This round will feature the second-leg matches of the quarter-finals, with Atlético Madrid, Barcelona, Liverpool, and PSG as the main contenders.
In the match between the Spanish teams, Atlético Madrid will start with an advantage, as in the first leg, Diego Simeone's team clearly defeated Barcelona 2-0.
However, Lamine Yamal has shown confidence that his team can turn the tie around, even challenging Simeone.
In the pre-match press conference, the Spanish winger made it clear that they will not be intimidated by Atlético. "I feel very good and very motivated to make a difference. I hope I can make a difference. Let's see if Cholo will give me the favor of putting me in a one-on-one situation with a player," he told the media.
He also stated that the key will be "to be intense, not lose our game, and not think that it's a miracle to come back. We are down two goals, but we have to play the way we know how."
"Fortunately, I'm playing for Barcelona, and we have a lot of quality. I don't think it will depend on me alone, and if it does, I wouldn't mind. But I trust my team," he added.
"If we are eliminated, it will be at the end. We will give it our all for the badge. This is not over. A comeback is very possible, that's why we are here," he concluded.

A group of Bayern Munich fans came up with a solution to support their team in the Champions League quarter-final match against Real Madrid: they rented an entire plane to travel together to the Spanish capital, avoiding the high prices of commercial flights. The initiative, spearheaded by the Red Bull Taubenbach fan club, quickly went viral on social media.
The solution arose from the problem of the high airfares between Munich and Madrid, which increased significantly after the match between the two teams was confirmed, reaching prices of over USD 1,000 per person, making them inaccessible to most. In response to this situation, the Red Bull Taubenbach fan club organized the rental of a private plane from Cologne, bringing together 180 fans to travel for half the price they would have paid on a regular airline.
Details of the idea:
According to Rudi Grabmeier, the president of the fan club, who spoke to the German sports website Sport1, the final price was less than half the usual fare—approximately USD 550—and allowed passengers to bring their own drinks and food on board.
The organization involved procuring 500 liters of beer and Leberkäse, a typical Bavarian sausage. Grabmeier stated, "My goal is to help the fans be close to the team in such important matches." This was not the first time he had organized this type of trip.
The fan club…

In a match featuring international stars, we discussed the clash between Real Madrid and Bayern Munich in the Champions League, where experience triumphed over the brilliance of the current stars.
Goalkeeper Manuel Neuer, at 40 years old, remains a key figure for the German team and the player who stole the show in Bayern's victory over the Spanish side at the Santiago Bernabéu. In fact, both Spanish and German newspapers highlighted his performance, stating that thanks to him, Bayern secured all three points from the Iberian capital.
"Neuer maintains Bayern's lead," Marca headlined. The Madrid-based newspaper added that "an extraordinary veteran, Manuel Neuer, came to the rescue to contain Real Madrid's reaction with a series of impressive saves, characteristic of a goalkeeper in his prime, not on the verge of retirement. Real Madrid deserved more based on their chances. Bayern deserved more based on their overall play, their goalkeeper, and an exceptional, game-changing winger: Olise."
Sport, Neuer's counterpart, also highlighted the player from Gelsenkirchen, stating that "the hands that appeared belonged to a Neuer who, at 40 years old, was facing the past and the curse of goalkeepers at the Bernabéu. He blocked a run by Mbappé, whom the Bernabéu fans closely followed during every negotiation, and a cross-shot. He also made crucial saves to contain Vinicius."
Mundo Deportivo asserted in its headline that "Real Madr..."

Real Madrid vs. Bayern Munich is now firmly in the category of a classic match. These are two giant teams, always considered strong contenders. They have faced each other no fewer than 29 times, solely in the European Cup. It's the most repeated duel in UEFA club competitions. However, only one will advance to the semifinals of the 2025-26 Champions League. Following what happened this Tuesday at the Santiago Bernabéu, the German team is slightly closer to that goal. They took a step forward, winning 2-1.
The Bavarian team brought the dominance they have in the Bundesliga, where they are the leaders with a nine-point advantage over second-placed Borussia Dortmund, to the pitch at the Santiago Bernabéu. Real Madrid is currently experiencing a period of inconsistency, with good performances mixed with very lackluster ones, to the point that they are seven points behind Barcelona in the league. However, a change was expected in their favorite competition.
Bayern, under Vincent Kompany, not only demonstrated individual quality but also a collective effort that few teams in European elite can match, although they showed some weaknesses in the second half. The first real chance came just 43 seconds into the game, when Laimer took a shot. The beginning of the match saw a clear dominance by the visitors, who controlled the ball at will.
Real Madrid only managed to break free from their defensive posture when the ball reached Kylian Mbappé and Vinícius, an attacking duo formed for their physical prowess and vertical play. Between the 15th and 17th minutes, the Real Madrid players...

The Champions League enters its final stages. This Tuesday, the quarter-final matches begin, with notable clashes including Sporting vs. Arsenal and Real Madrid against Bayern Munich (3:00 PM).
The Spanish team has overcome the last three direct encounters and remains undefeated in their last nine UEFA competition matches against the German team, with seven wins and two draws.
The statistics also show a clear trend in favor of Real Madrid. The team, now coached by Álvaro Arbeloa, has won the previous three quarter-final ties between the two clubs.
However, recent results give Bayern some hope. In this edition, they have accumulated nine wins in ten matches.
To counter this trend, the Spanish coach places all his hopes in Kylian Mbappé. In the pre-match press conference, Arbeloa highlighted the French player's ability to make a difference for the team.
"I am sure we will see Kylian playing at his best level and leading the team as he always has. For me, it is a privilege to have everyone available and not have a team with ten or eleven injuries, as has happened on other occasions," he said about the French player.
"Mbappé knows exactly what Real Madrid is, and I have no doubt about that. He is a boy who has always dreamed of..."

Barcelona and Atlético Madrid are engaged in a separate competition this season. In the fourth chapter of this particular rivalry, the Catalan team delivered a significant blow by winning 2-1 in the capital, setting the stage for their upcoming double-header.
These two rivals will face each other six times this season: twice in LaLiga, in the first and second legs of the Copa del Rey semifinals, which Atlético won with an aggregate score of 4-3, and in the Champions League quarterfinal series, which begins on Tuesday.
The victory achieved at the Metropolitano is a significant morale boost for Barcelona, who also extended their lead over second-placed Real Madrid to seven points with only eight games remaining.
Furthermore, the way they overcame an unfavorable situation is noteworthy. Before the 15th minute, Barcelona had already created several dangerous opportunities, at least three times, with Lamine Yamal being a key player in two of those instances. After that initial period, Atlético regained control of the ball and stabilized the game.
In the 39th minute, Giuliano Simeone exploited a weakness in Barcelona's defensive line and faced the goalkeeper, Joan García, alone, scoring the first goal for Atlético. However, this lead lasted only a few moments, as Marcus Rashford scored for Barcelona in the 42nd minute, shooting between the legs of Juan Musso.
In the final minutes of the game, a reckless foul by Nicolás González on Yamal resulted in a red card, leaving Atlético with ten players, which made the game even more challenging for the home team.

Real Madrid stumbled in their quest to win the LaLiga title. The Madrid-based team traveled to the Balearic Islands, but were surprised by the home team, Mallorca, who defeated them 2-1, a result that raises serious doubts ahead of their Champions League match against Bayern Munich.
Without Vinícius Junior starting the game, the capital city team lacked the necessary inspiration to overcome Martín Demichelis's team. The latter came out determined to control the midfield and cause damage with a direct style of play, showing no respect for their opponent's reputation.
Before the 15th minute, Muriqi had already warned Real Madrid twice about the danger. Only in the 22nd minute, a play initiated by Arda Güler allowed Kylian Mbappé to take a shot, but the goalkeeper, Leo Román, saved the home team's goal.
The Spanish goalkeeper once again proved to be a key player after defending his goal twice before the 35th minute, following attempts by Rüdiger and Güler.
However, the Mallorca team broke down the resistance of their illustrious rival just four minutes before halftime. Maffeo made a run down the right wing, and his accurate cross was headed in by Morlanes for the 1-0 lead.
In the second half, the French player Mbappé again troubled the home team, but Leo Román once again justified his status as the player of the match, in the 55th minute.
As the minutes passed, the island team seemed to relax, and even the desperation of Real Madrid's players couldn't change the fate of the most successful team in…

On February 17th, Gianluca Prestianni became world-famous, and not exactly for his dribbling skills or a goal. During the first leg of the Champions League round of 16 playoff between Benfica and Real Madrid, the Argentinian player became upset with Vinicius after the Brazilian scored a spectacular goal and celebrated in a provocative manner. The Vélez-trained player looked at his teammate, covered his mouth, and said something... no one knows exactly what he said, but Vini immediately reported to the referee that he had been the victim of a racist insult.
A month and a half later, Prestianni addressed this incident in an interview in his home country, where he once again denied everything: "What hurt me the most was being accused of something I never did. I am not a racist," he began by saying to Telefe.
"I have had teammates of the same skin color as Vinicius, and nothing ever happened with any of them, quite the opposite. Then they started calling me homophobic as well, which was too much. I felt that people were just trying to create drama over things that weren't true. For us Argentinians, words like 'maricón' or 'cagón' are common insults. But fortunately, the team and the coaching staff supported me, which gave me peace of mind," he added.
Furthermore, he spoke about Kylian Mbappé, who also called him a racist after learning about the accusations against Vini: "Mbappé calling me a 'piece of shit racist'? It's an insult to call someone a racist when they never..."
