The board of directors of MPS (Monte dei Paschi di Siena) has named Fabrizio Palermo as the sole candidate for the position of CEO.

The board of directors of MPS has indicated Fabrizio Palermo as the "sole candidate for the position of CEO" of the bank within its list for the renewal of the board of directors. This is stated in a press release. Furthermore, only one list has been presented for the board of auditors of Mediobanca, in view of the assembly to be held on April 14th. The list is presented by MPS, which holds an 86.3% stake in the capital of Piazzetta Cuccia. MPS is nominating Mario Matteo Busso, Lavinia Linguanti, and Giacomo Granata as auditors. A slate of three alternate auditors is also being proposed: Angelo Rocco Bonissoni, Maria Federica Izzo, and Nicola Miglietta. Meanwhile, Blackrock is adjusting its stake in MPS, which remains close to 5% of the capital of the Siena-based group. According to communications from the Italian securities regulator (Consob) regarding significant holdings, the American asset manager exceeded 5% of the capital on March 16th, with a stake of 5.063%, before reducing it to 4.898% on March 19th.
