As part of the Michoacán Plan for Peace and Justice following the murder of the mayor of Uruapan, Carlos Manzo, the president of Mexico, Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo, followed up on the cleanup of Lake Pátzcuaro.
Through her social media accounts, the federal leader shared a video from Quiroga showing the inspection of one of the wastewater treatment plants being rehabilitated, under the supervision of the National Water Commission (Conagua).
"We visited the rehabilitation project of the Wastewater Treatment Plant in Quiroga, Michoacán," she said.
"There are 10 treatment plants, 116 kilometers of collectors, 7 kilometers of dredging and cleaning, 10 wetlands, a waste separation center, four public spaces, a surveillance center and three monitoring stations, water lily removal, reforestation, and terraces," she detailed.
She indicated that these actions add to the work of the government of Michoacán "to recover all the springs that also supply water to Lake Pátzcuaro."
"It is part of the Michoacán Plan for Peace and Justice," Sheinbaum emphasized, accompanied by the head of Conagua, Efraín Morales, and the mayor of Quiroga, Alma González.
