The national leader of the National Action Party (PAN), Jorge Romero Herrera, appointed Senator Enrique Vargas del Villar as coordinator in defense of the homeland, the family, and freedom in the municipality of Huixquilucan, State of Mexico. At an event with party members, the national PAN leader highlighted the good governments that this municipality has had since 2016, which have been reflected in the elections won over the past more than 10 years. He said that the purpose of the political party should not be limited to winning municipalities or debates, but rather to offer better living conditions, security for women, job opportunities for young people, and peace of mind for the elderly. In addition, he recognized the administration of Mayor Romina Contreras and highlighted the political career of the PAN legislator, acknowledging his ability to retain the public's trust. Upon receiving the appointment, Vargas del Villar referred to his political career, noting that in Huixquilucan he has served as councilman, local deputy, and municipal president, and as a local deputy he was coordinator of his parliamentary group in the state Congress and is currently Vice-Coordinator of his parliamentary group in the Senate of the Republic. He also recalled that in 2015 he won the municipal presidency of Huixquilucan by a margin of 380 votes, and upon being reelected in 2018 he won by a margin of 42,000 votes. Furthermore, he highlighted that under PAN governments in Huixquilucan, the municipality's credit rating has improved, going from BBB- to AA+, and announced that a further improvement is expected next year, concluding by saying that "in Huixquilucan, in the State of Mexico, we are ready to defend the family.
