Matchday 26 of the Primera División will have a special ingredient: the Universitario Clásico between UC and U, to be played at the Claro Arena. This Friday, the ANFP released the full schedule for that round, which will be played between October 30 and November 2.
Universidad Católica needs to win at home so that its chance of qualifying for the Chile 2 spot in the 2027 Copa Libertadores doesn't slip away — the same goal Universidad de Chile is chasing, although Fernando Gago's men are also keeping an eye on Colo Colo, which, after three matches without a win, sits nine points back, and at CDA they haven't given up hope of a comeback, since a few matchdays ago the albos were 16 points behind.
The standings are led by Fernando Ortiz's side with 54 points, followed by the U with 45 and then the franja with 42. The three giants of Chilean football will decide in the final matchdays the tournament champion and the two representatives who will go directly to the group stage of the aforementioned Libertadores.
From Quilín, the Universitario Clásico was scheduled for Sunday, November 1 at 5:15 p.m. at the Claro Arena.
