At least 170 packages of apparent cocaine, weighing 171.42 kilograms, hidden in the fuel tanks of a tractor-trailer, were seized by personnel from the National Customs Agency in conjunction with the Army, National Guard, and the Ministry of Security and Citizen Protection (SSPC) in Huixtla, Chiapas.
This occurred during a routine inspection at the Huixtla Border Traffic Comprehensive Care Center, where customs agents inspected a tractor-trailer using mobile X-ray equipment, with which they detected irregularities in the density of both fuel tanks, as well as rectangular objects inside them, the Security Cabinet reported.

Given these indications, the personnel, as noted in a statement, carried out a more detailed inspection with the support of a canine unit specialized in narcotics detection, which gave a positive alert, leading to the location of 85 rectangular packages in each fuel tank, containing white powder with characteristics similar to cocaine, for a total of 170 packages and a weight of 171.42 kilos.
The driver and the seized items were turned over to the Attorney General's Office (FGR), where the corresponding investigations will be followed up, the Security Cabinet reported this Friday.
