Thunderstorms forecast starting this Sunday in eight regions: hailstorms and strong winds expected

Chile's Meteorological Directorate (DMC) forecast thunderstorms in eight regions of the country, with their greatest development on Tuesday, October 12. According to the agency's details, this is a phenomenon associated with atmospheric instability, to develop between the afternoon of Sunday the 11th and the night of Tuesday, October 13. In particular, various areas of the regions of Atacama, Coquimbo, Valparaíso, Metropolitana, O'Higgins, Maule, Ñuble and Biobío will be affected. Along with this, the DMC specified that there is a probability that amid the thunderstorms, hailstorms and strong local wind gusts will develop. Sunday storms in Atacama and more constant in Coquimbo In the Norte Chico, the Atacama Region expects thunderstorms only for this Sunday, October 11. However, the phenomenon would develop in the coastal areas, the coastal mountain range, and valley, pampa, foothill and mountain areas. The Metropolitan Region could have a high presence of thunderstorms from the start of the phenomenon, and they are expected to develop in valley, foothill and mountain areas from this Sunday.
