MOSCOW, October 2. /TASS/. Sales of new passenger cars in Russia rose by 7.9% in January-September 2026 to 960,400 units, the Industry and Trade Ministry reported. Meanwhile, sales of light commercial vehicles fell by 16.6% in nine months to 62,900 units. In September, 114,400 passenger cars were sold, down by 6.2% year-on-year, and up by 0.6% month-on-month. Sales of light commercial vehicles totaled 8,000 units, a decrease of 11.8% year-on-year, and an increase of 15.4% compared to August. Sales of new trucks fell by 8.1% to 37,100 units in January-September, while bus sales dropped by 7.8% to 7,400 units. In September, 4,100 trucks (down 5.4% year-on-year) and 898 buses (down 16.1%) were sold.
