Florida Democrat Angie Nixon is getting help for her US Senate bid from progressives like Bernie Sanders, as the party establishment mostly shies away from investing in a state that for years has been dominated by Republicans.
Sanders is sending $250,000 to a PAC aligned with Nixon and the Florida Democratic Party, according to her campaign manager. The campaign has also turned to one of New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani’s fundraising advisers to generate more cash for the final stretch.
