MILWAUKEE /Wisconsin/, October 2. /TASS/. Russian Economic Development Minister Maxim Reshetnikov held a number of bilateral meetings during the Group of Twenty (G20) meeting in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, but had no contact with his US counterpart, he told reporters following the meeting in response to a TASS question. The economic development minister said "no" when asked whether he had held either a formal meeting or a brief informal encounter on the sidelines with US Trade Representative Jamieson Greer. Greer hosted the meeting in Milwaukee as the United States holds the G20 presidency this year. At the same time, Reshetnikov confirmed that he had held "quite a few" one-on-one meetings with foreign counterparts during the gathering. "Those contacts were primarily about comparing our positions and discussing what was happening here [in Milwaukee - TASS]. There were quite a few of them. In some cases, of course, we also discussed bilateral issues - preparations for intergovernmental commission meetings and some particularly pressing matters. But everything here is fairly condensed. We also have quite a few mechanisms for discussing bilateral issues with all our colleagues. I am, as they say, in regular contact with most of my counterparts whom we meet here," the Russian minister said. The ministerial meeting in Milwaukee, which Reshetnikov attended, focused on international economic development and trade. It was held from September 30 to October 1. The G20 events in the US will culminate in a summit to be held on December 14-15 near Miami, Florida.
