The National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM) consolidated the organization and coordination of the selection processes for admission to the institution into a single body and appointed Joaquín Narro Lobo as head of the new Coordination of Academic Administration and Services.
The appointment, made by rector Leonardo Lomelí Vanegas, addressed one of the recommendations of the Technical Commission of Experts that reviewed the admission exam for the 2026-2027/1 school cycle, announced the university.
In a statement, it said that this new coordination will be responsible for implementing a governance model that defines the functions of each area during the different stages of admission to UNAM and strengthens the validation mechanisms for evaluation instruments.
It must also guarantee the timely participation of the specialized areas in information and communication technologies (ICT) and establish permanent mechanisms for technical advice and support.
