On the morning of this Wednesday, September 30, the death of a three-year-old girl was reported after she fell from the 14th floor of the Aguaviva residential complex, in southern Neiva, Huila. However, in events that are being investigated by the authorities, the woman would have entered the elevator alone and the girl was left without adult supervision. Photo: Nación Huilense -According to accounts gathered by the local outlet Nación Colombia, the mother managed to go down one floor and, when she returned to the spot where she had separated from the girl, she realized the tragic outcome: the three-year-old had fallen into the void, causing her immediate death. After the woman and the neighbors screamed and became aware of the incident, the authorities arrived at the scene to carry out the corresponding inspection and the removal of the body. At this moment, the National Police and the Technical Investigation Corps (CTI) are collecting evidence to help clarify what happened on the morning of this Wednesday. The authorities are gathering information about the girl's closest relatives, as well as the security camera footage from the building, to verify what occurred. EL TIEMPO contacted the Neiva Metropolitan Police, who stated that the corresponding removal of the body was carried out and that "the girl's mother is devastated." For the legal autopsy to be performed, the body was transferred to the National Institute of Legal Medicine and Forensic Sciences.
