Britt, Frost named among Time100's 'most influential rising stars'

Multiple American political figures ended up on this year’s Time100 Next list, which the magazine brands as a collection of “The World’s Most Influential Rising Stars.” The list includes Sens. Katie Britt (R-Ala.) and Andy Kim (D-N. J.), Reps. Jake Auchincloss (D-Mass.) and Maxwell Frost (D-Fla.) and former White House deputy chief of staff James Blair. For Britt, Kim and Frost, their relative youth is noted in their short profiles for the list. All four congressmembers on the list were born after 1980, making them members of the millennial generation or in Frost’s case, Generation Z. “Now in his second term, the 29-year-old Democrat, whose Orlando district is home to the Universal Studios theme park, has made waves by leading on messaging like his stunt call to remove the Statue of Liberty in response to President Donald Trump’s immigration policies,” his profile reads. Kim’s profile touches on his May pepper-spraying by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) officers as demonstrators came together outside an immigration detention facility in Newark, N. J. “It was the clearest example of a spirit that Kim has brought to the Senate since his 2024 election. The 43-year-old son of South Korean immigrants, Kim has pushed for improved conditions for those being detained as well as broader immigration reform,” it reads. In Britt’s profile, she is described as rapidly discovering “how to wield influence in Donald Trump’s Republican Party while avoiding its hardest edges.” “Britt, 44, has since strongly backed Trump’s agenda, including his aggressive immigration policies, while privately urging the Administration toward moderation at key moments,” her profile states.
