The President of the Board of Directors of the Chamber of Deputies, Kenia López Rabadán, stated that the right of reply should also apply to the press conferences of President Claudia Sheinbaum, as proposed by the guidelines for the right to hearings, proposed by the federal government. "I believe that the right of reply should always exist, in any space, in any, whether it is a space of power or a space of communication. From my perspective, of course, (the president's conference) has a full communication format. I mean, it is a conference that takes place at a regular time, with a regular format, with, let's say, different types of topics, routinely, regularly," she explained. She recalled that the former PAN presidential candidate, Xóchitl Gálvez, requested the right of reply from former President Andrés Manuel López Obrador, and it was not granted to her. She also read: COPPPAL expresses solidarity with Colombia after a 7.4 magnitude earthquake; calls on members to support humanitarian aid efforts. "We have the precedent of when Xóchitl Gálvez goes and knocks on the door because she was demanding the right of reply. And because obviously if you are cited, mentioned, let's say, no longer, not intentionally, by mistake, with something you did not say, that you did not write or that is taken out of context, of course Mexicans should have the right to defend themselves in a public space that is broadcast, among others, through the channels of the State," she explained. She trusts that the guidelines will regulate the right of reply in the morning conferences of the head of the federal executive. Contrary to Morena's stance, which on its social media published that the presidential conference serves as a "space for direct communication." She also read: No Mexicans affected by the earthquake in Colombia are reported; they are asked to review flight status. "Maybe it is not out of malice, nor abuse, nor excess of intolerance, nor ideological segregation. Maybe it was by mistake. But those mistakes have to be corrected," she said. During a press conference, the PAN legislator also announced that she will present her legislative activity report on August 17, at the Legislative Palace of San Lázaro, and invited President Claudia Sheinbaum and the President of the Supreme Court of Justice of the Nation (SCJN), Hugo Aguilar.
