For this new edition of Halloween Horror Nights, Universal Studios Hollywood and Universal Orlando Resort will inaugurate a new original attraction in tribute to Ozzy Osbourne. It is a haunted house inspired by his prolific solo career. The new Universal Studios attraction, named Ozzy Osbourne: Prince of Darkness, will allow visitors to ride the Crazy Train for a journey where both horror and heavy metal will be protagonists. During the tour, songs from key albums in his repertoire will be played. This includes titles from works such as The Blizzard of Ozz (1980), Diary of a Madman (1981), Bark at the Moon (1983), No More Tears (1991), Scream (2010), and Ordinary Man (2020). Sharon and Jack Osbourne stated in a shared statement to La Tercera: Ozzy never stopped breaking barriers and loved everything that offered his fans a new way to enjoy his music and the worlds he created. The singer's widow and son highlighted that Halloween Horror Nights has done an incredible job bringing that spirit to life in the respective parks in Orlando (Florida) and Los Angeles (California). "As you walk through these haunted houses, you will recognize many moments inspired by his music and imagination. It is a wonderful tribute to Ozzy, and we hope fans have as much fun as he would have had seeing it come to life." The experience will be available from August 28 at Universal Orlando Resort and from September 3 at Universal Studios Hollywood. Starting with Crazy Train, his most famous song, visitors will travel back in time from his childhood to the Osbourne Asylum, inspired by his iconic album Diary of a Madman. As they go through the decades, different facets of the artist's personality will come to life, from Madman Ozzy and Werewolf Ozzy to the Prince of Darkness, the nickname he earned in the 1970s. The executive producer of Halloween Horror Nights at Universal Studios Hollywood, John Murdy, said: Ozzy Osbourne not only helped define heavy metal but created a cultural phenomenon that has influenced generations of music, art, and horror. "We previously had the privilege of collaborating with Ozzy, and this new haunted house is an opportunity to honor his extraordinary solo career. Inspired by his thirteen albums, visitors will explore the dark and surreal worlds that fueled his music and cemented his legacy as the one and only Prince of Darkness." At Universal Orlando, Halloween Horror Nights visitors will venture into ancient ruins and dungeons before boarding the Crazy Train for a journey to a realm inspired by album covers such as Diary of a Madman, Bark at the Moon, The Ultimate Sin, and Black Rain. This fantastical world draws from the sound and aesthetics that defined the later years of his career. Mike Aiello, senior director of Creative Development at Universal Orlando Resort, emphasized: We are honored to collaborate with the Osbourne family to create a unique haunted house that celebrates Ozzy Osbourne's legacy. It was important for us to create an authentic experience that brings Ozzy's creativity and personality to life in a hauntingly immersive way.
