United Airlines announced this Tuesday the resumption of its daily non-stop flights between Houston and Caracas, starting August 11, 2026. The airline will operate one daily flight using a Boeing 737 MAX 8.
Flight UA 1046 will depart from Houston (IAH) at 11:45 PM and arrive in Caracas (CCS) at 5:30 AM the following day. The return flight, UA 1045, will depart from Maiquetía at 8:00 AM and arrive in Houston at 12:30 PM.
United suspended this route in 2017 due to a decline in demand and operating conditions in Venezuela. Now, the company is resuming the service after nearly nine years of interruption.
This decision follows the recent return of American Airlines, which restored its flights between Miami and Caracas at the end of April. In this way, the two major US airlines are resuming direct connections with Venezuela.
The Houston-Caracas route particularly caters to the energy sector, as Houston concentrates the majority of oil operations that have interests in Venezuela.
The airline expects to attract both business travelers and families and visitors. United stated that tickets are already on sale through its usual channels.
