Parque Arauco has chosen Colbún's renewable energy sources to advance its decarbonization plan and sustainable operations.

As a sign of how sustainability is being integrated as a long-term strategic decision, Parque Arauco announced the signing of a commercial agreement with Colbún for the supply of 100% renewable energy over the next six years, which will allow it to supply its main commercial assets in Chile. The agreement includes the supply of renewable energy to 21 Parque Arauco assets, distributed in 10 shopping centers, 7 strip centers, and 4 outlet malls, between the Antofagasta and Biobío regions, integrating the use of clean energy across the company's operations. In this context, Parque Arauco Kennedy accounts for approximately 40% of the total consumption associated with the contract. It is worth noting that Parque Arauco's entire portfolio, i.e., its 30 assets, already operates with more than 98% renewable energy. This alliance is part of Parque Arauco's sustainability strategy, which seeks to incorporate environmental and energy efficiency criteria directly into the way its assets are designed, operated, and managed, understanding sustainability not as an additional attribute, but as an enabler of business, operational resilience, and future growth. These initiatives directly contribute to reducing the operational carbon footprint and advancing Scope 1 and 2 decarbonization goals, validated by Science Based Targets. In this context, Parque Arauco is the first shopping center company in South America to have goals approved under this standard. The contract includes a supply of 150,000 MWh per year, associated with 40 connection points, and is 100% certified by I-REC, which guarantees that the energy comes entirely from renewable sources. The environmental impact of the agreement is significant and measurable: the supply of renewable energy will prevent the emission of approximately 37,500 tons of CO2 per year, which is equivalent to removing nearly 10,000 vehicles from circulation or planting more than 350,000 trees annually. Over the six years of the contract, the total mitigation will reach 225,000 tons of CO2, positioning this agreement as one of the most important decarbonization milestones in the operation of commercial and urban assets in Chile. One of the key elements of this alliance was the commercial flexibility of Colbún, which made it possible to design an agreement tailored to Parque Arauco, considering the diversity of its asset portfolio, its geographical distribution, and its objective of advancing sustainably in decarbonization, without losing competitiveness or operational efficiency. "This decision reflects our conviction that sustainability must be integrated into the heart of the business. Moving towards the use of 100% renewable energy in Parque Arauco's assets is part of a profound transformation of our operations, aimed at reducing environmental impacts and operating in an increasingly efficient and responsible manner," said Andrés Torrealba, General Manager of the Chile Division of Parque Arauco. For its part, Colbún highlighted the role that this type of agreement plays in the country's energy transition.
