Fies 2026: Pre-selected candidates must validate their application data by today.

The deadline for pre-selected higher education students to validate the information declared during registration for the remaining spots in the Student Financing Fund (Fies) program, for the first semester of 2026, ends this Monday (11). To validate, the student must contact the Permanent Commission for Supervision and Monitoring of the private higher education institution where they were pre-selected, during its operating hours. The required documentation can be submitted in physical or digital format, as defined by the private college. Fies finances the undergraduate studies of students enrolled in non-free, in-person courses at private colleges with a positive evaluation from the Ministry of Education. Consultation of pre-selected candidates: The names of the pre-selected candidates in the single call can be consulted on the program's page on the Unified Access Portal to Higher Education, using the Gov.br platform password. The Ministry of Education (MEC) released the results for the remaining spots in Fies 2026 last Thursday (7). Bank validation: After the validation of the information by the student, the information will be validated by the bank (financial agent) responsible for the financing, as provided in the public notice. The deadline for this final validation is up to ten days, counted from the third business day, immediately after the date of validation of the registration by the private college for which the student was selected. Fies Social: The pre-selected candidate for a Fies Social spot, with a family income of up to half the minimum wage per person, has a different situation. In this case, the student does not need to provide proof of family income to the Permanent Commission for Supervision and Monitoring (CPSA) of the private institution. However, the student must attend the commission to validate the other information within the same period, from May 8th to 11th. Waiting list: Candidates who were not pre-selected in the single call will be automatically included in the waiting list for Fies 2026. Candidates on this list will be notified between May 15th and 29th. The ranking will follow the descending order of scores on the National High School Exam (Enem), with priority given to candidates: · who have not completed higher education and have never benefited from Fies; · who have not completed higher education and have repaid previous financing; · who have completed higher education and have never benefited from Fies; · candidates who have completed higher education and have repaid previous financing. Fies is primarily intended for students who have not completed higher education and have not benefited from another student loan. The program holds two regular selection processes each year, one for the first semester and one for the second semester of each academic year, in addition to selection processes for remaining spots.
